A Salute to our Veterans

Although I do not have the honor of being a Veteran, I do have many members of my family who have served. Both of my Grandfathers fought in the Korean war as part of the Marine Corp. My father served in the Army, my brother is currently serving as a Senior Chief in the US Coast Guard, Active Duty. My uncle, a Green Beret, took a round from an A.K. in the torso during a tour in Iraq and by the grace of God is still with us today. I have lived my life with a great appreciation for those who serve, and for the sacrifices they made, and continue to make on behalf of our nation. Veterans are the class of individuals who committed to sacrifice their education, their family, their jobs and in the most tragic of cases, sometimes even their lives for our nation. Living veterans, to me, are a symbol in this country. Just as the National Anthem symbolizes this great land as the beacon of freedom around the world, singing words of a free and un-oppressed nation, U. S. Veterans symbolize the sacrifices made to create that beacon of freedom, to establish, defend and preserve our right to live free and un-oppressed. On this day, and every day we live free in this great country, let us always remember to thank a Veteran. God bless our veterans, troops currently serving, our first responders and God Bless America.

I would like to ask that all Americans join together Saturday, November 11th and take time out your day to recognize Veterans. The Greenwood Lake recognition will take place at the American Legion Post located on LCpl Scott Lynch Way 11/11/2017 at 11am. God bless Veterans, our troops currently serving, our first responders and God bless America.
