Great Events This Past Weekend
Last weekend was an unofficial kick off to GWL’s summer season. It began with the Village’s first ever Zumba program at the waterfront park, free for all participants and taking place every Saturday at 9am. Then we had an amazing street fair sponsored by the GWL Chamber of Commerce and coordinated by Kelli and Eric Kelm. We concluded the busy weekend with very touching Flag Day ceremony at the GWL Elks Lodge with the help of our GWL Cub and Boy Scouts, American Legion and members of the public. Next weekend kicks off our free Summer Concert Series at the Beach with the Jazz Tranchina Quartet at 7pm.
I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to the families of those affected by the shooting in Orlando Florida. We must remind ourselves that even in the face of adversity, the days of bigotry are long behind us, and will not be tolerated, especially when targeted by an extreme sect of a religion who has shown themselves to be intolerant of our society. God bless the victims, their families and the United States of America.
