Lake Management

Once again, the Village will utilize herbicides to treat the weeds in the north, east and west arms of Greenwood Lake. The treatment will be Sonar (approved by the NY DEC). Sonar has 24 hour restrictions on the following activities: Swimming, fish consumption, drinking water and domestic livestock watering. There is a 7 day restriction for irrigating your lawn after treatment. The treatment is scheduled to take place between Monday May 18 through Wednesday May 20th  depending on weather conditions. Please check the Village website and Facebook page for the exact day and times of treatment. ALL treatment areas will be posted very conspicuously.

  • Coalition Teen Center Every Wednesday from 6:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. at the GWL Elks
  • GWL Coalition Meeting 3rd Tuesday each month at the Senior Center. 7:00 p.m. Help combat drug and alcohol use among our y Attend a Coalition meeting!
  • Boater Safety Course May 20th and 22nd from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Cost is $45. Register at Village Police Station 477-9215. Courthouse
  • Greenwood Lake School Board Candidates Forum Thursday May 14th 6:45 pm at the GWL Elementary School.
  • Greenwood Lake BOE Election and Budget Vote Tuesday May 19th from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Elementary School.
