Completed Village Budget for 2015/ 2016
Each year, the Village Board is tasked with adopting an operating budget for both general municipal operations as well as water distribution to the users within our Village. This year, the Board is proud to have adopted yet another budget that maintains the level of service our residents rely on, keeps taxes fair, and increases funding to critical aspects of our general operations such as lake maintenance and youth services. In addition, the Village Board has reduced the dependency on our fund balance (savings account) and reduced the fixed rate on resident’s water bills by $80. The tax rate increase is $.91 per $1,000 assessed value. The average home in the Village is assessed at between $30,000–$60,000 (This is not actual home value, it is assessed value). So if you own a home that has an average assessment, you will see a reduction in your taxes this year from a Village standpoint when factoring in the reduction from your required water payments.
