Continuing Efforts for our Youth
This past weekend we hosted the first ever community sponsored ski trip for local youth. This event was inspired by the Elks’ annual trip for their youth group, the Antlers. The event was a tremendous success as our Community Coalition partnered with our GWL School District to pull off a fun night on the slopes. The event was for 6th – 8th grade age students (Teen Center aged) and we had nearly 60 participants! We will be making this an annual tradition and would like to expand the age groups to allow greater participation. This is just one of many efforts the Village, School and local organizations are doing to make the lives of our youth better and more productive. Special thanks to everyone involved, especially School Superintendent Dr. Christine Ackerman and Coalition leader Theresa Finn.
Budget Time in Village
The Village Board and administration will be working diligently over the next month to create and adopt a budget for the 2015/2016 budget year. As always, we will work very hard to ensure that the residents receive the services that they rely on while maintaining a fiscally prudent and responsible budget.
