Thank You GWL Lions and Supporters
It is a fascinating thing to be a part of our local organizations. In addition to being an Elk, I am a member of the GWL Lions Club. The Lions Club hosted its annual Roast Beef 300 Club Dinner at the American Legion. Year after year, there is always a tremendous amount of support that is shown by the residents toward the Lions because it is widely known that the Lions are an exemplary service organization. We, as Lions, do not have a building and do not have the volunteer numbers that we once had. What we do have, however, is a list of dedicated volunteers who never fail to heed the call to service. I want to send out a very big thank you to all the members and volunteers who came out Sunday to assist in one of the Lions’ largest fundraising events of the year. Special thanks go out to Bruce Rohner, whose tireless efforts year after year have been essential in enabling the Lions Club members and their Presidents to carry out the magnificent community projects that we have seen over the years. I can guarantee you this – if you go to any corner of our Village, you will likely see some aspect that had been donated by, cared for by, or built by a member of the GWL Lions club at one time.
Interactive and Updated Recreation Page of Village Website
I encourage all residents to begin checking in with our Village’s Website, specifically the Recreation Section. Village Trustee Katheleen Holder and Web Designer, Peter Hall, have been hard at work. The new portion of our site will include all aspects of local recreation, such as what is available, when each Rec program is offered, who to contact to get involved and signed up and many other details necessary to stay informed. Our goal is and always will be to keep our residents happy, healthy, and engaged in the community.
