Mayor Dwyer’s Column
Greenwood Lake Mayor

Please Bag Your Leaves This Fall
The Garbage Company will be going around on a regular basis picking up leaf bags. The Village Board asks that all residents are diligent about picking up their leaves. Leaves that enter the lake contribute to sediment buildup and poor lake quality, leaves that blow into the road pose a hazard for drivers and leaves that go from one un-raked yard onto a yard that has been raked causes unhappy neighbors. So in short, PLEASE, rake and bag your leaves this fall.
E-Recycling for Village Residents
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19th, Village residents may bring their used and unwanted electronics, including, but not limited to, televisions, microwaves, record players, dvd players and similar items to the DPW yard for safe and free disposal.
Track/ Walking Path
I am happy to announce that the newly installed track/ walking path around the field next to CVS is complete. The path is made of what is called crusher dust stone and it will compact into a perfect path over time. It is a very cost-effective way to provide a safe walking path/track for residents right in the heart of our Village. Please, check out the track and enjoy the gift that was paid for by the GWL Lion’s Club through the President’s Project of outgoing Lion’s President, Monica Conway.
Fundraiser Thank you
I would like to thank Karen Jantz and ToniAnn Devito for their hard work and efforts in putting together a women’s softball game in memory of Billy Patterson and Jack Frey to raise money for the girl’s softball leaque. I would also like to thank the sponsors Murhpy’s Tavern, Whisper’s, Emerald Point and the American Legion for hosting the lunch. The amount raised was $1,170.00. Great Job!
