Road Surfacing in the Village

As a young kid growing up in Greenwood Lake, I can remember rollerblading around town freely until the politicians decided to put down the dreaded “tar and chip” to fix the roads, and ultimately ruin my rollerblading for at least a month. Well, now I had the opportunity to put down what I had once loathed, and I also get to hear from the same kids I used to be. But now, I understand why we put down the tar and chip. It is without a doubt the most economical way to preserve the roads within the village for the longest period of time. In addition, we receive state funding to do so as well. And therefore, I apologize for temporarily altering your skateboard or rollerblade route for a short period of time. But please keep in mind that it is a necessary step that we must take annually as efficiently as possible.

Cablevision and New Sidewalk

I hope all will notice the sidewalk that Cablevision is installing in front of their property, as well as connecting to the nearest sidewalk to the south. This is a great improvement to the safety of our community and on behalf of the Village Board we thank Cablevision for considering this option when we had proposed it.

Weed Harvesting

The weed harvester was running all week last week and of course ran into problems, but continues to operate. Maintenance is becoming a major issue for the harvester but the Board is committed to keeping the weeds to a minimum as best we can.
